Glass Decor

Hello friends!! Today I thought I would talk about glass and how I use it in decorating. I have collected some great pieces over the years, I just love the reflective and airy feel they bring to a room. Whenever I spot a large vase on sale, a pretty bowl or candle sticks made of glass, I snatch it right up! I don't think you can ever have enough glass decorative pieces in your home....well maybe you can, but I can't! Where do I store all of these you ask? I don't, I always have them out on display and never put them away because they are just too pretty to look at!

I love the drama these over sized glass vases being on my dining room table add to the room. I found them at Home Sense Canada in the clearance aisle for $9 each guys!!! So you know I was all over that! I love adding seasonal florals to them. When they are dressed up with flowers, they instantly become a dramatic focal point in the space. If you don't have fresh florals then use some faux florals. Falsies are my fave! I usually have faux hydrangeas in my jugs on this table. I love that I can't kill them and they always look great, haha! I will say Michael's and even some dollar stores have a great selection of some pretty realistic looking faux florals for a decent price.

Don't forget to check out your local thrift store for glass decor. My thrift store always has a great sized selection of different glass vases, jugs, candle sticks and bowls....

Check out these beauties I scored for $2 each!

Did you find a great vase at a thrift store, but hate the colour?? Spray paint it! Mostly all spray paints work on glass. In the picture below I spray painted out 3 mini wine bottles in Rustoleum spray chalk paint in Serenity Blue.

Here I just spray painted a bunch of random left over vases I had kicking around. By grouping them together, tucking in some faux florals (Dollar Tree) and spraying them all the same colour, they become an attractive centerpiece for our kitchen table. Click here for the colour I used to spray paint them.

Home Sense is always my go to place to find new inexpensive jugs

Here is a simple display of thrifted vases on my bedroom shelves.

Large demijohns make great decorative floor pieces. I found mine at garage and estate sales.

Here is another demijohn I've placed on my front entry table and filled with wine corks to give a textural element.

Hopefully this post has given you guys some simple ways to use inexpensive glass or vases in your decor! Let me know if you guys have any questions or comments on this post below. Have a great day guys!

Love,

Dale xo

What a lovely walk through the world of glass décor! I really appreciate how you highlight the versatility of elements like demijohn bottles, faux hydrangeas, and spray-painted vases all classic interior design entities that effortlessly elevate a space through reflection, texture, and light diffusion. Your idea of grouping repurposed glass pieces into a unified color theme is such a practical way to introduce harmony and a fresh visual anchor point in any room.

The registration process on DG Club is not that difficult, but it’s also not very smooth. I used these steps and managed to complete it after a couple of attempts. There were small issues while entering details, nothing major but still annoying. Once the account was created, everything worked normally. I think the app could improve the signup experience. Still, it’s okay and gets the job done if you are patient and follow each step properly without rushing anything.

the way you broke down glass décor ideas and showed how simple pieces can transform a space was both inspiring and easy to follow. I especially liked how you highlighted the way glass interacts with light, adding depth and brightness without overwhelming the overall design. It’s true that glass elements can make a room feel more open and elegant by reflecting and enhancing natural light .The practical tips and creative examples made it feel approachable, even for beginners who might want to try a DIY project. It reminded me of a similar discussion I recently came across on a review blog samedaydiplomas, where they also touched on how subtle décor choices can have a big visual impact.

A gold bag brings elegance to both festive and formal looks, blending shine with practicality. Its warm tone pairs well with neutral outfits and bold colors alike, making it suitable for evening events or special gatherings. Crafted from quality materials, these bags often feature fine detailing, smooth finishes, and durable clasps. In the middle of many collections sits the Gold Beaded Bag, admired for its texture and handcrafted appeal. Whether carried as a clutch or shoulder piece, a gold bag adds charm without overpowering the outfit.
